When it come to raw food, science and the media often take a quick
look and make comparison to what is considered normal. Because it is all based on past knowledge and information sometimes this comparison will
discredit what is essentially a good thing. This of course gives the media and
other interested parties the ammunition to point fingers in denial and say “see,
you were wrong, we ran a study and the results showed you to be incorrect” Why does
this happen? Any time there is something new like raw food let’s say, there are
new rules or at least new possibilities to consider but that is not what
happens. What happens is, what is measured is then compared to what WAS,
from the past, considered and established as good health. For instance; having a certain
amount of body mass was considered to show a body in good health and those who
eat a raw food diet are too skinny. The idea is that being skinny was a sign of
bad health. This is all based on the past and the fact that when eating a
standard diet and still your body mass drops below a critical point could only
happen if there were affecting health issues to cause such a loss in weight.
That may be true given that those types of foods will keep your body mass up
unless you have a problem but what has never been considered is what might
your body mass look like if you were at a state of health never seen before. We
don’t know or at least the general population is not familiar with such a body.
Up until now a light body mass was an indication of ill health. such a condition then would also be
accompanied by other health issues that go along with it
such as skin problems, sleep problems, mood swings, depression, digestive
problem, week bones… But what if you were extremely healthy, maybe beyond
what even your doctor has ever seen. Your doctor can misinterpret
such things as, not sleeping for more
than 4hrs a night, excessive energy, and light bone mass. They are looked at as ill
health rather than exceptional health. In the case of bone mass it appears that
raw foods can result in reduced bone mass but produce a much stronger, more resilient
bone. see article Lighter and stronger sounds like a great thing to me but your standard response
from a medical view is low bone mass is a problem. Now common sense would tell
you that being a lighter being on this planed or less affected by gravity puts
much less strain on the body and can make way for longer healthier life. This is a known fact of science in the obesity
world. Doctors and scientist have all agreed that being overweight will put a
staring on the rest of your body eventually causing other health issues. What if
a whole new approach was taken and we looked at bone mass with virgin eyes and
opinions to see what might be possible if the old was forgotten. Maybe a stronger
yet lighter bone would be the goal and finding raw foods can produce that, the
word on the street would support lighter bone mass among other things instead
of the current standard of heavier bone mass / body mas... We love to disbelieve in eating natural.
As a raw foodist the first question you get sick of hearing is “where
do you get your protein” My new answer is “What makes you think we need all
that protein” That is an old concept and is actually part of a conspiracy as is
"coconut oil is bad for you," "You can’t digest uncooked food", "milk is good for
your bones" and on and on. All wrong, all miss informed and all irrelevant to
good health. What I would like to hear a doctor ask or test for is your acid / alkaline
balance, mental clarity, eye clarity, digestive health,
impacted or clear internal organs, yeast, live blood cell analysis. All of
those are far more important then protein intake and calorie counting. It is
difficult to bring the world around to a new consciousness because we now focus so
much on what was “Proven” in the past. But regardless of what is said by the medical industry or specialist, I know I
am healthier. I often say "I don’t need a study from a reputable university to
tell me I no longer have hay fervor, I no longer have asthma, I no longer have
sleep problems, lower back pain, blotchy skin, greasy hair, pimples, afternoon spaciness, bear gut
or the fact I haven’t had so much as a sniffle for eight and a half years".
Argue all the studies and statistics you want but I know hundreds if not
thousands of people who no longer suffer from the common, acceptable everyday discomforts
of life; from a common could to cancer it’s all gone because they changed their diet.
