This is NEWS to me but not surprising. I found this tonight on NaturalNews.com
The ethanol in many mouthwash products accelerates the
absorption of cancer-causing chemicals in popular mouthwash products,
reveals a study from the University of Melbourne, Australia. People who
regularly use such mouthwash products are boosting their risk of oral
cancers by an astonishing 900 percent, the study reveals.
The study was conducted by Professor Michael McCullough,
chair of the Australian Dental Association's therapeutics committee. It
revealed the 900 percent risk in cancer applied only to smokers, but
that the cancer wasn't limited to merely oral cancer: It also boosted
the risk of head and neck cancers.
Alcohol drinkers experienced a 500 percent boost in cancer from the regular use of mouthwash products, the study found.
Within
hours after the release of this study, manufacturers of popular
mouthwash products -- such as Johnson & Johnson -- blasted it,
saying there is "no evidence" linking mouthwash products to oral
cancer.
At least in their own minds, that is. Maybe they're haven't read the study yet.
